For their 2012 collection, Swedish company Offecct asked Dutch designer Ineke Hans, to develop a sofa along the furniture brand’s ’02ASIS’ collection, which aims to bring more plant life into the home. With this in mind, Hans has conceived ‘Smallroom’, a seating unit which is characterised by a box on one side which functions as a planter, or as a working surface with optional power devices.
There are three different seating options in total, varying in length (1 metre, 1.5 metres, 2 metres) each featuring a high back which wraps around two sides of the sofa, acting somewhat like a privacy wall, creating the impression of a smaller room.
The design offers different back and side heights which allow one to configure the furniture pieces into various arrangements for different activities such as private conversation, work and meetings.
